9 Tech Skills That Will No More Get You a Job

#7 SEO Specialist

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine's "natural" or un-paid ("organic") search results.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. However Google no longer has a Search group. It's now called "Knowledge." That should be a telling warning for all the search engine optimization (SEO) gurus and ninjas looking for work. The explosion of smartphones, apps and real-time location information - and especially social media recommendation - is diminishing the importance of search results. And if we go with the abilities of Google Now, eventually, information may be delivered to us even before we search for it as our integrated, connected systems anticipate our needs.

"The big draw" Chalk ART - A festival to the heART!

It was my very first experience of witnessing the chalk art event. Although I am myself an artist with pencils and brushes, chalk was something I still have not tried. My MBA program gave me an opportunity to be a part of this event and experience the shades of chalk colors in a different way. As a part of my MBA program we took the project of creating a video for people to attend the chalk art festival and it gave us an opportunity to learn about our video making skills and it brought out our hidden talent.
There was no age limit for the participants and we saw kids and older people drawing their hearts out, adding colors and giving life to their imaginations on a very hot day and I thought to myself - that is dedication! Overall just attending the event was a great experience. My MBA friends had come with their spouses and friends and it was a big gathering of people. Thanks to Yi Jiang for organizing the event and Mizgon Zahir Darby for bringing out the hidden talents within us.

15 Important Lessons learnt in my MBA tenure

1. Think out of the box:

It is also known as thinking out of the box, which I strongly believe in as a design engineer. It is the art of thinking differently, unconventionally and from new perspective. This skill comes handy to engineers for developing many unexpected future product developments and many entrepreneurs have evolved from this kind of thinking ability. I would recommend every visionary entrepreneur to think out of the box to generate ideas. Creative thinking acknowledges and rejects the accepted paradigm to come up with new ideas.

2. More knowledge you gain more humble you shall become:
No matter how intelligent you are, there is always somebody who can do something better than you. Always keep room for improvement. As its said - empty vessels make more noise so are the people with little understanding of any subject. It can be noticed that a person with complete knowledge doesn’t talk much but shows his excellence by doing it right. One should learn the art of giving and sharing with the people around. No person is perfect, every individual poses unique capability and each one should be respected for their virtues. And thus knowledge not only makes a person humble for gains respect over a period of time.

3. Don't be afraid to make mistakes:
Part of being humble is understanding that you will make mistakes. Understand this, and understand that everyone else makes mistakes, and you will have a heavy burden lifted off of you. Any one person can know only the smallest bits and pieces of the tremendous knowledge that has accumulated over the past. What's more, each person experiences only a sliver of the present, and knows little to nothing of the future.

4. Knowledge and sharing:
Knowledge transforms our personality. Its not just information. It contains life through which concept is made alive, so as to touch a thing that can't be touched and see a thing that can't be seen. By knowledge Copernicus understood, its that earth revolves round the sun. This is the great discovery! Knowledge possessed by an individual has tremendous value. Being in this stream at the higher stratum, we equip knowledge which is costlier than gold. The fire within us, to grow in knowledge needs to be kindled. We don't grow when there is negligence, reluctance, esteeming great by ourselves. In order to make it grow, we need to come under one shelter like a 'family' and share the knowledge gifted to us with one another. This is the platform, upon which you are called to grow up.
To grow in knowledge is to share one another. There is abundant joy in sharing, which could be tested here. Whoever sows generously shall reap generously. Each one is gifted differently to sustain the needs of others. It is therefore, they are gifted. Give them out, get replenished more and more.

5. Patience, Patience :
In our daily life, we come across distinct people every day, one should learn to deal with them and be patience all the time as they may seem stupid. Not all are perfect in everything.

6. Draw the boundary :
How much ever your team member is know to you, know your limit and draw boundary.

7. Compromise for the team, but not for yourself:
When working in team, you may not like your team's decision, but accept the majority. Yet dont compromise until you are convinced without disturbing the progress of the project.

8. Don't try to mend other's:
All are unique, dont try to mend them to your requirement; instead accept as they are and bear with them. There are many crazy people waiting out there apart from MBA school.

9. Don't keep Judging others:
One year is too short to judge anybody, stop judging people.

10. Learn to accept your mistake:
No one is perfect, you will learn by your mistake. Learning is a continuous process, so dont hesitate to accept your mistake.

11. Start Networking:
As you prosper in your career, network with as many professionals as possible to increase your social capital. You never know how they would play instrumental in your career. Every professional has something to teach you.

12. Prioritize, plan and execute :
In prioritize your daily activity, plan how efficiently and effectively could accomplish it.

13. Respect Time:
Time is Valuable, respect other's time before you make delay's. If you are arriving late for a meeting convey the same to team members, so that they could proceed in your absence.

14. Dressing manners Important:
Know how to dress for various events. If you are pitching on your presentation dress appropriately to keep it formal as we are all supposed to be MBA professionals.

15. Use Linked In
LinkedIn is a major place to find jobs and meet professional. Keep your linked-in profile up to date. Know its purpose and use it wisely.

Role of social media in the Future

Technological evolution has become a bliss and pain in today's generation.
Although it enables one to connect and engage with people who are far away, it has its own advantages and disadvantages. For instance, keeping one's personal information has become difficult because of advanced development in technology, your personal data no more private to an extent. People are helpless than wonder at the kind of social footprint they have left without their knowledge.

The recent bomb blast in Boston shook the entire United States; the local government was under enormous pressure handling public contacting them for resolution. At the other hand after this tragic event cellphone services were stuck due to traffic created by people around the globe reaching Boston’s friends and relatives enquiring the safety who were running the marathon.

Social media such as Facebook, Twitter,Instagram,Orkut, Pinterest etc., have become a substitute mode of communication channel for real time update on world wide news.
Unknown people from Boston created a list of thousands of phone numbers and address's of those offering aid and shelter to those impacted by the bombings. It’s heartwarming to see strangers come together instantly as a community and provide support and assistance. This is a great use of social media in crisis where other communication modes have failed. It’s great to see technology bringing people together in moments when they desperately need support.
Mobile technology and Internet has already redefined the way we live and expect more in future. Going ahead in future Social media could help prevent such tragic events by fast spreading any suspicious activities in such public events. This would help government taking timely action or public could take fair decision on whether or not to attend such events. In the future may be a group of people could form an online volunteer community to fight against such events, track such negative conversations in different public forums who could be a potential threat in future and bring them to police custody. Social media could replace such marathons by an internet based services for the community rather than physical public gathering which is a disadvantage disconnecting from meeting people in person.
Although we may not be able to completely prevent such tragic events but technology would definitely help shape such events(marathon) in a better shape given a committed thought about it.
